Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the International Bridge Conference, which routinely attracts over 1,000 bridge stakeholders from around the globe, went virtual, and selected AIT to present a virtual tour of the nation's first composite tub girder bridge.
The virtual tour is hosted by Ken Sweeney, PE, ENV-SP, President and Chief Engineer of AIT Bridges and former Chief Engineer for the Maine Department of Transportation, and covers high-level as well as some technical details about this cutting-edge technology. It also features current and former policy officials including Senator Susan Collins and MaineDOT Chief Engineer Joyce Taylor, both of whom attended the project's ribbon cutting celebration in May 2021.
